Leif the Cthulhu Tree

Description

This is the Cloak of the Rapier Champion of Myrgan Wood. When I was first given the cloak to work on, my boyfriend was the Champion, and he 'commissioned' me to do the Tree. I gave it back when the Tree was finished, and he passed it on to his successor.

His Cadet Brother is now the Champion, and I offered to do more work on the cloak, since I had more that I wanted to do. He agreed, and I got it back. I did the Leaves around the Tree.

The Tree trunk is done in three shades of brown - dark, medium and light. The Tree's leaves are done in brown, orange and red, with a white outline so they're visible against the red of the cloak (I didn't have any control over the colors, I would have done green leaves, but for the fact that the Tree of Myrgan Wood has a brown trunk and red leaves in their device.) The Laurel Leaf wreath is done in dark, medium and light greens. The two tiny little leaves on the collar are in white. All are done in split stitch, with DMC cotton thread.

I did not make the cloak.

A long time ago I submitted a deviation also known as Leif the Cthulhu Tree. That one has since been deleted, and this one has been created to take its place.

Also, the original deviation was of just the Tree. I have since added the Laurel Leaf wreath around the Tree.

The original picture really didn't do the work justice, and I felt it necessary to coax better images out of my camera. Other than the full cloak image, I seem to have been successful. (The color of the cloak is better represented in the close-up images, it's not that washed out.
